Why has Cliff Richard become Barbadian?

We all know Cliff Richard loves Barbados.

What may be less well-known is that Cliff is now an official Barbadian citizen.

Cliff has revoked his UK residency and has somehow managed to wangle himself a new passport.

Cliff no longer pays any tax to HMRC.

“I’m officially a non-resident, although I will always be British and proud of it,” says Sir Cliff.

His spokesman, Bill Latham, confirms that Sir Cliff is a citizen of Barbados, where, after selling his house in Weybridge, Surrey, in 2006, he now spends most of his time…

..the singer, who retains a flat in Sunningdale, Berkshire, has not paid tax to the British Government on money he earns outside the country for some years.”

Some people in Barbados have queried how Cliff acquired citizenship which is usually only possible via marriage.

According to the Barbados Free Press:

” Sir Cliff is a full citizen of Barbados.

Is this report correct? Did I miss it in the Barbados news media?

Sir Cliff is always pushing Barbados and we thank him for that. We have no issues at all with him acquiring Bajan citizenship and we welcome him to the family.

We do have questions though – about who gets Bajan citizenship, the process and the rules. We can’t find a comprehensive guide published by the Barbados government and we wonder if the whole process isn’t quite arbitrary.

We’d love to hear from some Immigration staff on this one!“

Another commentator said:

“ I was under the impression the only way to become a citizen was to marry a Bajan! Otherwise you apply for residency, I’ll be very interested to hear the official outcome of this.”

Why has Cliff become a non-dom?

Why was Cliff unusually granted full Barbadian citizenship?

Why does Cliff spend months and months hiding out in Barbados?

What rights does Cliff have if he has a brush with the law in the UK?

What help could Cliff expect from the Barbadian Embassy?

We haven’t got the foggiest idea.

Have you?

  1. Maybe, Cliff has committed a series of crimes that involve under age girls and boys and wishes to evade the law.

  2. The Government of Barbados (GoB), is made up structurally of The Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State.[1] She is represented by her representative the Governor-General, Sir Elliott Belgrave, G.C.M.G., K.A

  4. Everyone knows Cliff moved to Barbados it was in the national press. Read it in his book and stop being so ignorant. Why are so many buying into this libellous muck spreading?

    • It’s not libellous he really did visit the Elm Guest House his name was on the register, it’s no secret he’s bisexual and more to the gay side in later years, though he’s never been exactly out and proud so probably lies about it in his boo people say he wasn’t involved with the under age boys. Still could probably be called in for questioning though.

  5. GloWestern This what people said about Jimmy Saville before all the facts came to light.

Cliff Richards name is on the guest list of Elm Guest House. I suggest you do some proper reseach.

  6. “Police investigating an allegation of sexual nature from the 1980s are searching a property owned by Sir Cliff Richard.” – That’s why…

  7. If he has revoked his British citizenship then maybe the Queen should revoke his Knighting as a Sir and become plain old Cliff!!!!

  10. My wife used to work at a large Georgian house in Long Sutton Lincolnshire, and this house was owned by two old sisters would have men come from all over to dress and live as women, and men would come and visit, if you had seen Cliff Richard dressed as a woman you would not be able to tell.

What upsets people is that some men did bring boys, this is undeniable and Cliff Richard is a pervert and this also cannot be denied.

It’s no good saying ok he’s a perv but never hurt anyone, there were stories from other men that he had eaten human flesh- Cliff has to say yes or no to whether he is a pervert or not.

  11. Cliff has done NOTHING wrong. Why would he build of an image to ruin it from within? Furthermore, you don´t have a shred of evidence or proof. All you do is come up with allegations and ONLY people who agree with these false allegations have the right to get their views known. I have tried 4 times – and I can still not leave a message. Even though I leave my whole name. What are you scared of? Well, great news Cliff is touring the UK next year.

  12. Barbados extradition laws. Can’t make sense of it all but in some places it suggests that treaties with the commonwealth ended in 1980 (i’ll say again though- I didn’t quite understand it all)

Keep up the investigations and try to get more reporters/investigators involved; I’m sure any young outgoing journalist or student would jump to get onto some of this stuff- I would if I lived anywhere near London or Elm guesthouse

  14. Anyone can flash a UK passport, does not necessarily mean he was using it for travel. He is as bad as so-vile in my opinion.
