Ask me no questions……..

Dear Friends,

Greetings and welcome to our humble new blog……it’s a real pleasure to have you along for the ride!

Some of you may already know our team from various FOI’s posted on the splendid What Do They Know website ( where we love to dig and delve a little into the background ops of local government and find out  just how the hard-earned tax-payers money is being spent by those in the corridors of power.

Our armchair auditing hero is the multi-talented Derek Tickles who enjoys nothing better than holding the folks of the DCLG to account and we applaud him for his endeavours!  Here’s hoping we can do the same …….

Since January 2011 we have submitted lots of interesting requests to Westminster City Council mostly relating to business links and spending data. The various replies received have only heightened our curiosity into the accounting practices of the richest borough in the UK, hence the need for a blog to take our research to a wider audience.

We are going to analyse and scrutinise to our hearts content and leave no stone unturned in our quest to armchair audit with the best of them. “Transparency, Transparency, Transparency ” will become our motto as we strive to pursue each FOI to its end.

Here’s a little peek at some of our fave requests so far……..

They really are something don’t you think????

Anyway folks this is where the hard works starts as we try to make sense of the nonsensical and take our investigations to the next level.

Do join us again soon!

Kindest regards

B.Coleman and the gang

  1. Hello Chums,

Just come across you chaps. Excellent work. This armchair auditing can be hard work so keep having fun doing it. I sense Westminster Council are already feeling the heat. I will be keenly following your work.

  2. “Making sense of the nonsensical” – what a job – without going crazy in the process!…

More power to your blogging elbows! BTW, to change the ‘tagline’, go to DASHBOARD, SETTINGS, GENERAL and change the second line. I also suggest you change the number of ‘recent posts’ to be published to a higher number than 5. There’s soo much value in the titles of your blog posts!!!
